    How would the iiu mono be translated here?

    Would it be something like…

    When you meet a person for the first time, (the thing?)that you say is Haijimashite?

    It seems alittle odd in English that’s all.

    I think it would be like B (common sense kinda thing)
    人に初めて会うときは、日本語で「はじめまして」って言うものです
    When you meet a person for the first time, in Japanese, the thing to say is hajimemashite.

    With もの、I’ve found that for the most part, it sometimes can’t be translated into English, as it is used more as a way to convey emotion. These days I’m trying to experiment by using those words a lot, but it’s hard to get the timing down, you know!

    この頃、そういう言葉を良く使ってみてるけど、ちゃんと使う時間が分かりにくいから、タイミングのことはまだ悪いものだよね。

    I don’t even know if THAT was right!
